Austin has many great events and festivals every year and 2010 is no exception. If you are planning a trip to Austin, plan around an Austin event and make it special. Want an Austin music festival? How about South By Southwest or the Austin City Limits Festival? Want a more unusual Austin event? Try Eeyore's birthday. There's great film festivals in Austin, too. Try the Austin Film Festival or the SXSW Film Festival or Fantistic Fest. Want a running event in Austin? Try the Keep Austin Weird 5k or the Austin Marathon. Here's just a sample of things going on. Keep Austin Weird 5K

Keep Austin Weird 5K is for those that make up Austin and make Austin the unique city it is. Don't forget, it's not just a run, there's plenty of entertainment and costume contest as well!


SXSW

The biggest music, film and interactive event of the year. Parties, bands and free stuff galore!


Trail of Lights

A beautiful array of lights - in December, the tree is lit, following a 5k run, which allows the Trail of Lights to be lit and showcased.


Capitol 10,000

Open up the spring season in Austin! Let your entire family enjoy this 10K, which is the largest in Texas and in the top 5 in the nation.


With well over 20 different events, there is something for everyone to enjoy at the Hill Country Wine and Food Festival.


Eeyore's Birthday Party

Eeyore's Birthday Party is a fun event for all ages. Be sure to dress in a costume as prizes will be given. This is a fundraiser to raise money for non-profit organizations in the Austin area.


Zilker Kite Festival

Looking for a free family event? Visit the Zilker Kite Festival and the whole family can have fun looking at various designs of kites. Don't forget to bring your kites to fly and maybe even enter the contest!


Carnaval

Wanna experience the Brasileiro style without traveling to Brazil? Carnaval is the place to do it - with costumes, music and samba - a fun and exciting experience.


Hot Sauce Festival

Get in free by donating 3 cans of non-perishable food and experience the fun, excellent (and not so excellent) salsa, and music!


Austin Fine Arts Festival

One of the biggest arts festivals of the year, put on by AMOA.


The Republic of Texas Biker Rally

No matter what kind of weather comes to Austin, this event will still be held. Music events are held for 3 days along with many of the most popular bike builders come to this event.


O. Henry Pun-Off

Looking for great entertainment and live music? The O. Henry Pun-Off is free admission and you can be amazed be the people using incredible wordplay!


Austin Marathon

A yearly event, which all ages can participate in. Austin's major running event.


Old Pecan Street Festival

At the Old Pecan Street Festival, you'll experience live music and entertainment while finding clothing, jewelry, candles, etc. in the middle of the 6th Street Entertainment District.


Austin City Limits Music Festival

3 days on 8 stages and 130 bands. Great music, local food and portapotties everywhere!


Turkey Trot

Run up an appetite Thanksgiving morning. All proceeds go to Caritas.


Austin Chocolate Festival

At the Austin Chocolate Festival, you can test several different types of chocolate to find your favorite! There are several different competitions so don't miss it, chocolate lovers!


Texas Wildlife Expo

At the Texas Wildlife Expo, you can experience the beauty of outdoor nature by fishing, boating, rock climbing, and many more!


It's My Park! Day

If you want to give back to your community, It's My Park! Day can be fun and a good way to do so. On this day, many individuals and groups help to restore the living of the parks in the Austin area by cleaning, installing, and repairing.


Austin Film Festival

The Austin Film Festival is the event to attend if you are looking to meet and speak with top notch movie executies and producers - even screenwriters and filmmakers! They want to help you - buy, sell, and promote your work!


East Austin Studio Tour

The East Austin Studio Tour allows you to view the inside's of artists' studios for dozens of artists on the east side.


Moonlight Margarita Run

Rain or shine, the run goes on! Starting at sunset, participants begin walking, jogging, or running to end up at a moonlight festival where you can enjoy Tex-Mex food and music!


Austin Wine Festival

At the Austin Wine Festival, you have the option to test and purchase the wine. This event is held in 1 location for a duration of 3 full days and features wine tasting and fun events for the children including face painting! It's a family event, you'll be sure to attend!

Austin Celtic Festival
